Normal water pressure ranges between 40 PSI (pounds per square inch) up to about 80 PSI.

The water pressure that you have at your home or business will depend on your location within the Town.   The pressure may fluctuate within a few PSI on a daily basis, but you should not experience dramatic differences day to day.

If your water pressure has suddenly changed, here are some possible reasons:

Lower Pressure

  • There is a water main break nearby
  • There is a fire nearby and the fire department is using a lot of water
  • You have a water line break on your property or on the service line near the water meter
  • You have a pressure regulating valve that is starting to fail.  A pressure regulator is a device that controls the water pressure by reducing a high input pressure to a lower output pressure to your homes plumbing.

Higher Pressure

  • This is not a common occurrence.   Please call Customer Service and we will have someone check on this.
  • Possible Town Pressure Regulating Valve Failure

If you have questions about what the water pressure should be at your home or business, please contact the Utilities Department at 928-759-3070.

The wastewater plant was originally constructed in 1993 and was expanded to a capacity of 3.75 million gallons per day in 2007. Most homes in Prescott Valley are connected to the Town's wastewater collection system. Water from the Town's customers enters these pipes and flows to the wastewater treatment plant.

Sewer roaches can be reported by emailing Customer Accounts or by calling 928-759-3020. For Sewer backups, please call JACOBS at 928-759-9062
