Jan 27, 2024: Community Comes Together to Locate Child's Dog After Accident

dog sitting on person's lap in a parked carThe Prescott Valley Police Department wishes to thank the community for coming together last week to find a child’s dog that was lost after a serious vehicle accident.

Cedar is a small brown German Shepherd that ran away from his vehicle after a collision at Robert Road and Highway 89A on January 22. Cedar’s 11-year-old owner, who was transported to the hospital, told officers that he was concerned for his dog’s safety after he fled. Information about Cedar was shared via social media to assist with locating the animal, and many members of the community began to search.

Cedar’s owner located him safe and sound after he returned to the accident scene, presumably looking to be reunited with his family.

Prescott Valley Police Department can be contacted at (928) 772-9267 for non-emergencies, 911 for emergencies. Yavapai County Silent witness is 1-800-932-3232.
